CEIBA ("say-buh") explores the synergy and harmony between life and nature.

The ancient Maya of Central America believed the Ceiba tree stood at the earth's center, connecting the terrestrial world to the spirit world above. CEIBA was crafted with the Maya people in mind. As I contemplated the cosmic connection between all living things, I really began to use my camera to see.

This short film was also partly inspired by the documentary La Tierra Maya: Milpa, Meliponas y la Defensa de la Vida (Mexico, 2022) and the filmmakers' way of showing to relay an idea rather than telling.
