FALLING FORWARD | Short Film
A young man finds his way.
In this expressionistic piece, I focused on time, its effects, and the ability to move forward. The blend of expressionism and surrealism allowed me to lean into Lynchian and French New Wave elements to evoke feelings of horror, nostalgia, mourning, regret, and anxiety.
I embarked on various new challenges in this film, including short animated sequences, being the sole actor in the narrative, and singing.
This short film has since become a part of the longer anthological narrative, MONO NO AWARE, representing thematically linked themes that I have been grappling with over the last few months.
