Two friends plan a trip to the beach.

In DROWN OUT, I explore both a multi-perspective narrative approach and the horror genre for the first time. I was primarily inspired by the work of Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu, as well as the work of Steven Spielberg and 80s horror films for some of the visual choices I made.

The main goal of this short film was to successfully show how one experience can be demonstrated and perceived differently by different characters through the use of the camera, sound, and music.
